Fudgy Date, Dark Chocolate, Orange Zest and Espresso Freezer Bar
This is what happens when a chocolate-orange bar meets an espresso martini.
Sticky Medjool dates become a caramel base, brushed with espresso, citrus zest and topped with dark chocolate. It tastes indulgent, but it’s built from real ingredients — fibre from dates, antioxidants from cacao, and that super subtle espresso kick that makes you feel awake and alive.
It’s a snack with loads of personality - break into uneven pieces and casually eat straight from the freezer.

Serves: Varies
Ingredients:
12-14 Medjool dates
Zest of one large orange
25ml Dissolved instant coffee OR brewed espresso
Cacao nibs (for crunch)
Approximately 120g-180g Dark chocolate (70%+)
1 tsp Coconut oil
Almond butter (or nut butter of your choice)
Sea salt flakes
Method:
Line a small tray or board with parchment.
Split the dates open, remove pit and press them flat, overlapping them to form a thin rectangle.
Prepare the coffee, let it cool, add the orange zest.
Spoon the coffee mixture over the dates so they absorb the liquid.
Melt dark chocolate with coconut oil until glossy.
Pour a layer of chocolate over the bottom of the tray or board.
Lay the soaked dates on top, press gently so it sticks into the base.
Cover the dates with the remaining chocolate.
Lightly sprinkle cacao nibs for extra crunch (optional)
Swirl nut butter over the top as desired (optional)
Finish with flaky sea salt.
Freeze 10–15 minutes until firm yet chewy and fudgy.
Cut into shards.
We recommend to store in the freezer.
